Magí Puig was born in Palou, Lleida, in 1966. He graduated in Fine Arts from the Sant Jordi University in Barcelona in 1989 and expanded his studies at the Winchester School of Arts (United Kingdom). He currently lives and works in Tàrrega.

From a child the pencil was a good friend, later and as a logical succession of events arrive the studies of Fine Arts in the faculty of Barcelona, ​​there the brush gains prominence and painting becomes the instrument to translate that imperative need into images to interpret the world that surrounded him.

In his works, scenes of daily life are recurring themes, such as the markets, first local and later in places as diverse as Senegal, Turkey, Cuba or Vietnam. So are the study of the human figure and its light, whether in outdoor settings, eating on the beaches, or in the privacy of family life.

The painter defines himself as an alchemist.

It distils the essences of a complex reality to later offer its essence, like a colored perfume that penetrates the skin and seeks the soul.
