The artist Magí Puig is a painter but defines himself as an alchemist.

He graduated in Fine Arts from the Sant Jordi University in Barcelona in 1989 and extended his studies at the Winchester School of Arts (United Kingdom). He currently lives and works in Tàrrega.

Since childhood, the pencil has been a good friend, later and as a logical succession of events came the studies of Fine Arts at the Faculty of Barcelona. ​​There the brush gains prominence and painting becomes the instrument to translate into images this imperative need to interpret the world that surrounds it.

His works are recurring themes of scenes of everyday life, such as markets, first local and then from places as disparate as Senegal, Turkey, Cuba or Vietnam. So are the study of the human figure and its light, either in outdoor settings, such as beaches, or in the privacy of family life.

The artist Magí Puig distills the essences of a complex reality to then offer its essence, like a colorful perfume that penetrates the skin and seeks the soul.

Artist biography

Magí Puig

Magí Puig was born in Palou, Lleida, in 1966. He graduated in Fine Arts from the Sant Jordi University in Barcelona in 1989 and expanded his studies at the Winchester School of Arts (United Kingdom). He currently lives and works in Tàrrega.
