The work Prenent el sol is by the artist Mònica Castanys. It is a work made with the oil on wood technique. It has dimensions of 22 x 27 cm.
His work reminds us of Impressionism, although his outline is more expressive. He is almost always interested in capturing summer scenes in imaginary settings where color plays a key role.

Artist biography
Mònica Castanys
Mònica Castanys Font, Barcelona 1973.
She lives and has the studio near her hometown, in Sant Just Desvern. Graduated in 1993 in Pictorial Procedures at the School of Design and Art, Llotja de Barcelona. Since 1998 she has exhibited work in different galleries in Spain and Europe and participated in various international fairs. Since 2004 she has dedicated herself exclusively and professionally to pictorial creation.
“I am passionate about the female figure and its context. I am obsessed with looking at and extracting the right essence from moments, looking for the beauty of those simple moments. I am inspired by everyday scenes. I have always thought that the process is important because in one way or another it is part of the final result. Contrasts and light are the basis of my painting. I work with oil on wood because this base allows me to explore different techniques throughout the creative process … it is during this journey that I feel most comfortable. ”
