Description of the work

The artist Carme Magem Prat was born in St. Vicenç de Castellet (Barcelona), where he lived until the end of the eighties. He currently resides in Sant Cugat del Vallès.
His artistic training began very early in the Cercle Artístic de Manresa, he continued in Sabadell and at the Municipal Art School of Sant Cugat del Vallès.
He is studying university nursing and specializing in obstetrics and gynecology. She has been working as a midwife since 1981.
The career of the artist Carme Magem has always been divided between the world of health, in the field of care for women and the world of art. Exhibiting in different galleries in Barcelona, Vitória, Lleida, Granollers, Terrassa, Sabadell, Zaragoza, Seville, Oman, United Arab Emirates, among others. He also participates in prestigious international fairs such as St-Art in Strasburg, Salon des Antiquaries in Nancy, Lille Art Fair, Abu Dhabi Art Fair, Affordable Art fair in Singapore, London, NY, ect.
WORK
For a long time he worked mainly in oil and drawing. And since the beginning of 2005 it has been introduced in collage, achieving its own technique that combines it with oil painting. Creating a very characteristic effect in his works.
Immersed more and more in this technique, deepening and researching all its possibilities, it deals with various topics, including the female figure, the portrait and different faces full of expressiveness.
In his work, the portrait is a significant part of his work, mythical characters from the world of cinema, arts, culture, social struggle ... and also from individuals made to order.
He has recently collaborated with various publications and his works have been covered in books and magazines internationally.
She herself tells us:
