Description of the work
The work Salt Blau is by the artist Magí Puig. Screen printing technique. Edition of 100 copies. Measures 73 x 52 cm. Year 2018.
The artist Magí Puig is a painter, but he defines himself as an alchemist. He was born in Palou, Lleida, in 1966. He graduated in Fine Arts from the Sant Jordi University of Barcelona in 1989 and furthered his studies at the Winchester School of Arts (United Kingdom). He currently lives and works in Tàrrega.
Since he was a child, the pencil has been a good friend, later on, and as a logical succession of events, the Fine Arts studies arrived at the Faculty of Barcelona, where the brush gained prominence and painting became the instrument to translate this urgent need into images. to interpret the world around him.
His works are recurring themes in the scenes of everyday life, such as markets, first local and then places as disparate as Senegal, Turkey, Cuba or Vietnam. So are the study of the human figure and its light, whether in outdoor settings, such as on the beaches, or in the privacy of family life.
The artist Magí Puig distills the essences of a complex reality to offer later its essence, like a perfume of colors that penetrates the skin and looks for the soul.
